NSA's Advanced Summer Training Program is a unique summer intensive training program for all figure skating students. Skaters nationwide spend time at NSA's Advanced Summer Training, taking advantage of the flexible schedule and contract options.

The Advanced Summer Training program runs weekdays beginning May 27th through August 1st. This comprehensive training program encompasses 9 weeks or 43 days (blackout days apply, see below). Saturday freestyle ice and Learn to Skate classes are unchanged.

Advanced Summer Training Blackout Dates
  • June 9-13, 2025 (Train with the Best Camp)
  • July 4, 2025 (Observed Holiday)

Summer program pricing varies from standard fall pricing. Skaters participating in Advanced Summer Training experience leveled freestyles, advanced group classes, and the opportunity for full-day skate training. The Skate Academy offers payment options for athletes participating in the Advanced Summer Training Program. Payment plans are available for options 1 and 2. The Advanced Summer Training contract replaces the Fall Unlimited Ice and Class contracts. Summer Training contracts include unlimited freestyle ice and all offered classes.

Advanced Summer Training Contract Options

1. By the Day (the MOST Flexible) Athletes contract for a daily rate determined by the number of days contracted.
During registration, skaters select the days they plan to attend camp. The total number of days selected determines the contracted per-day rate for the athlete. Changes to contracted dates are allowed without penalty, making this option the most flexible for evolving summer schedules.

  • 31 days or more contracted days-$65 a day
  • 21-30 contracted days-$75 a day
  • 1-20 contracted days-$85 a day
  • Drop-in Rate - $90 (no-contract)

2. By the Week – Pay a flat rate per week. By the week contracts are Monday-Friday. The weekly published rate is not prorated for Holiday weeks. Skaters contracted for a 4-day Holiday week may select an extra day from the Advanced Summer Training schedule to complete the 5-day weekly contract.

  • 6 or more weeks - $325/week
  • 4-5 weeks - $375/week
  • 0-3 weeks - $425/week

3. Individual Freestyle or Class Selection – Skaters not interested in participating in the Advanced Summer Training program may choose freestyle and/or classes that work for their training schedule. Standard freestyle Ice and Class rates apply. Available options may be pre-purchased through the NSA Summer Freestyle Ice and Class link on the NSA website.

Standard Freestyle and Class Rates
  • Freestyle Ice - $15/hour
  • On or Off-Ice class rate - $20/class (does not include Learn to Skate)

How does contract training work?
Skaters interested in attending Advanced Summer Training select dates that they will be participating in the program, daily rates are determined by the number of days a skater contracts for. The more you train the less per day the training costs. Dates contracted do not have to be consecutive.

Skaters contracted for the Advanced Summer Training Program may choose from two payment options:
  1. Pay in Full. Pay the entire contracted rate at registration.
  2. Monthly Payments. Break the contract total into 3 payments due on June 1, June 15, and July 15, 2025.
